WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
WHAT WE DO
The mission of the Great Lakes Bay Zero Waste Consortium is to promote the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recovery hierarchy as it relates to manufacturers, businesses and institutions.
The Consortium will help members keep materials in a productive closed-loop cycle of commerce through education, evaluation, research, and joint activities; thereby preventing materials from being sent to landfills.
The goal of the Great Lakes Bay Zero Waste Consortium is to identify reduction opportunities determined by member needs.
Evaluation of waste hauling costs
Setting reduction goals
Implementing waste reduction and recycling programs
Finding productive uses of “problem” waste
Synergistic opportunities within the community
Meetings are held bi-monthly on the first Thursday of January, March, September, and November and on the second Thursday in July due to Independence Day.
The Consortium meets from 8:30-10:30a at locations of interest throughout the region. Typical meetings include learning about the zero waste goals of our hosts, taking a tour if available, and discussing how the consortium can help attendees meet their zero waste goals.
We are always open to suggestions regarding places of interest. Please contact us if your organization is willing to host the consortium or if you have a suggestion of a place to tour.
